Be the voice of the Summer Games and bring the excitement to life on social media! As a Social Media & Documentation ambassador, you’ll capture unforgettable moments—whether it’s action shots, posed pics, or fun snapshots with social media props—and we will share them directly on SOSC’s official accounts. Plus, you’ll engage with attendees, encouraging them to join the conversation and share their experiences with you. Help spread the energy, inspire the community, and make the Summer Games trend like never before!

Must have your own smart phone and be capable of recording photos and videos and transferring them to other mobile devices via texting or uploading. Social media and/or media relations experience preferred but not required. Must be comfortable approaching and talking to spectators, athletes and coaches. Will need All Access Wristband and will be given photo credential when checking in at the media center.

You, the volunteer, will also help set-up the venue by hanging up clothing, putting out merchandise and helping to organize and manage the storage area as needed. You will also help to keep the racks full of clothing as items are sold.

Fundraising Ambassadors play a vital role in spreading awareness of SOSC’s mission by engaging with the public at fundraising events, presentations, and outreach opportunities. Their efforts directly support fundraising and awareness opportunities while building broader community support.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Represent SOSC at fundraising events, community gatherings, and lunch & learn sessions

·         Distribute informational materials and answer questions about SOSC programs, fundraising opportunities, and athlete involvement

·         Manage funds and pledge forms at fundraising events, such as Tip-A-Cop events

·         Assist in identifying and encouraging prospective volunteers, event participants, and athletes (individuals with intellectual disabilities) to join SOSC programs

·         Collaborate with SOSC staff to tailor messaging based on the event audience

·         Report on outreach efforts, fundraising, and engagement results post-event

TRAINING & SUPPORT

·         Training provided by SOSC staff or regional volunteer coordinator

·         Ongoing support and updated messaging guidance for events

·         Access to SOSC marketing materials, banners, brochures, and giveaways

COMMITMENT & WORK SITE

·         Flexible volunteer commitment: events occur on weekdays, evenings, and/or weekends

·         Events may take place at restaurants, law enforcement offices, community centers, businesses, or public events across Southern California

·         Volunteers may choose events based on availability and interest

·         Attend minimum of 6 event per calendar year
